Organization Description
Friends of Fieldworkers is a nonprofit founded in 2015, following a devastating fire in South Oxnard that displaced many farmworker families. Since then, we have been dedicated to supporting, uplifting, and advocating for Ventura County’s farmworker communities through direct services, emergency response, and community-driven programs. Our work is rooted in dignity, care, and long-term commitment to the people who help sustain our region.
We provide practical and meaningful support through initiatives such as Laundry Love, which offers no-cost laundry services, along with scholarships, emergency financial assistance, and ongoing resource fairs that connect hundreds of families to essential services. We respond quickly to emergencies, including disaster relief, urgent food assistance, and coordinated community support when families are most vulnerable. In partnership with local organizations, growers, and agencies, we also deliver home safety improvements and run food, clothing, diaper, backpack, and boot drives while expanding trauma-informed outreach and culturally responsive care to ensure families feel supported, protected, and seen throughout the year.
